Bibbiena (Arezzo). Lorenzo Allodi‘s ninth victory of the season was celebrated in the rain, in the woods of the historic Casentino Bike in Bibbiena, in the province of Arezzo, a race that concluded the Appennino Superbike and Coppa Toscana MTB circuits.
The main route, challenging and picturesque, covering 63 kilometers with 2,300 meters of elevation gain, immediately set the tone for the race: technical trails, made treacherous by mud, steep climbs, and technical sections through the Casentino hills, leading to the majestic Sanctuary of La Verna. And it was here, after only 14 kilometers, that the leaders of the race emerged: Giuseppe Panariello and Stefano Valdrighi remained in the lead alongside Allodi.
For Lorenzo Allodi of the Olympia Factory Team, riding his trusty Olympia F1-X, it was yet another confirmation of a magical moment. The biker, coached by Marzio Deho, who had already won eight times previously, showed off all his strength and race management skills, setting a decisive pace. The finale in the alleys of Bibbiena rewarded Allodi, who managed to break away from last year’s winner, Valdrighi, finishing in 2h26’42“. Pelucchini came in third, 4’39” behind.
